  • New Technologies

    SN-1 SN-1
The first node in the Italian underwater seismic network. Installed at 2100 meters depth in the Catania (Sicily) offshore, fully operative since January 2005. Connected to the coast permanently by a subsea feeding and communication cable.

    SN-4 SN-4
A GEOSTAR class light observatory on seabed, designed to operate as a node of subsea networks.

    MABEL MABEL
Multidisciplinary observatory from the seabed, developed specifically for operations in polar waters; installed in the Weddel Sea (Antarctica), at 1900 meters depth.

OFFSHORE PERMANENT MICROSEISMIC MONITORING OFFSHORE PERMANENT MICROSEISMIC MONITORING
Underwater stations for real-time microseismic monitoring near oil and gas platforms.

SUBSIDENCE MONITORING SYSTEM SUBSIDENCE MONITORING SYSTEM
Subsidence monitoring system from the seabed, based on pressure differentials monitoring.

    BOMA BOMA
A buoy anchored in the Mediterranean deep waters; the scientific instrumentation includes meteorological sensors and water parameters sensors on surface and at 5 levels of depth. The bidirectional transmission of data and controls is carried out through mobile phones network: The BOMA was released on February 16th, 2004 in the south Mediterranean Sea, at approximately 1030 meters depth.

    MELBA MELBA
The first Italian Lagrangian drifter, capable of operating at up to 2000 meters depth. The scientific instrumentation includes pressure, temperature, conductibility, loose oxygen, chlorophyll, and turbidity sensors.

    TRIAS TRIAS
A Benthic lander for water/sediments ratio monitoring (stream profile at the lowest layers, sediments transportation, chemical-physical parameters).

    GMM GMM
A wired observatory on the seabed for long-termed monitoring of gas-connected phenomena (methane filtration); equipped with sensors for CH4, H2S and CTD.

    SCIPACK SCIPACK
An innovative module equipped for accurate monitoring, sampling, and visual surveys in subsea waters (up to 4000 meters depth).

TALPA A demonstrative prototype of a fully automatic excavator, designed for the excavation of 100-meter-deep wells on Mars.

Sistema Misurazione A system that measures pores formation, compaction, and pressure at the bottomhole in real time with no production interruptions.

Piezoelectric Elastic Waves Source Piezoelectric source of elastic waves at the bottomhole for short-range and high-resolution seismic surveys above and around excavation area.

Driller A driller for planetary exploration of Mars to install on a rover (ExoMars).

    DEXARM DEXARM
A robotic manipulator arm for internal/external support on orbiting platforms and robotic instruments for planetary exploration.
